Breaking news: Walls nearly done

Today the gable ends have finally been completed despite having one course too few on the rear end. Team 2 being of no use was on their rest day in Lake Manyara and  another lodge whilst everyone else baked under the blazing sun working hard to get the walls ready for the ring beam tomorrow.

In other news: sunburn really hurts and the Kevlaritis epidemic is dying down. The leaders are planning converting more of the toilets into full on long drops. Who's daft idea was that?!

  2. Hearing about sunburn in the blog and comments making me look out of the window wishfully. British summer time officially over with lots left still to be desired. Paul and jo asking after you. Paul a little distracted mind as lunar was attacked in the park and he's gone full gorilla mum on our asses and walking around carrying her like a baby. Less worried for lunar more so for him. Building looking good, more like a school than a pool conversion officially. Holly spotted, left me with a grin

  7. Hi everyone, building really coming along. Looking good.
Archie, I hope you are doing OK.... not suffering too much with sunburn, tummy "trouble" or your back! I bet you were ready for your rest day.
Molly goes looking for you if I say "where's Archie?". Davy says he is missing you a little bit. We have been busy this last week and a half travelling the country - the exotic delights of London, Birmingham and Hull!! Weather is showery and I'm getting fed up of eating pizza, burgers, cheese... Keep up the good work love mum, dad & Davy xx

  8. Hellooooo Holly you are looking as gorgeous as ever, the hat adds an extra touch of glamour to your attire. You don't seem to be glowing so the sunburn appears to be at reasonable levels.
We are busy treading water here. The children have joined forces and decided to take control of the house. Dad takes himself off to his office and velvet off to her crate which just leaves me to hide in the cloakroom witha packet of biscuits muttering 'mine, mine, my precious'.
Apparently new neighbours will be moving in soon. God help them mwah ha haha!
Am having a new carpet fitted in Emily's bedroom and am having new workbenches fitted in the workshop. I have decieded to convert the upstairs of the stables into an office for myself and thus much biscuits in peace and plan world domination.
Anyhoo life is plodding along with a holly shaped hole smack bang in the middle but we are almost half way so there is light at the end of the tunnel.
    Lots o loves

  11. Esme, I brought daddy to the island (isle du yeu) for his birthday present. The ferry across was an hour long and the most horrendous journey ever! It was like riding a rollercoaster that wouldn't stop, everyone on board was making the ooh and aah noises associated with a roller coaster and then many people vomited!! I'm so looking forward to our journey back in a couple of hours!!! Hope you are doing ok 😊 mummy xx Vik

  16. Building really progressing well now. Enjoying the blogs. Matthew- hope you enjoyed your recent rest day and are taking photos to look back on and capture memories. Don't forget to give the inflatable globes and pens to the school! Also, Alice has passed her driving test today so Tazanian roads are probably much safer than roads here at the moment!! Take care. Lots of love Mam, Dad and Laura X

  17. So James and Joe, still not convinced you are really there. Picture of James in a group in front of a puddle on rest day but you have flip flops on when everyone else has boots...was it a Photoshop job from Magaluf? Then a picture of someone from behind building a wall, James physique but couldn't spot the killer haircut line I gave you (you can explain). As for Joe I guess you must have eaten him, not much meat on him but I guess it might explain the boney meat.
Oh well never mind if you have both vanished we will save a fortune on those university fees !

  18. Good progress on the walls. If one end has one less course did someone gat sick of laying bricks. It is so hot here in the Vosges that we have also been taking cold showers.
